sputtering/bucking HELP ME!!!

ok i really havent spent much time searching but here is the problem:
i was driving home on the thruway, went to change lanes, as i accelerated the car bucked like crazy! I noticed under light acceleration it will make to 5grand fine. If i get on it the slighest bit it sputters car shakes, and makes a thumping noise. It happens anywhere from 2,000 rpm on. Is it a boost leak? ignition? it really sucks my car ran fine, now its for sale and i have people coming to look at it tommarow please help!
 
My Turbo laser did that all of a sudden, and after wasting money replacing things I checked the timing belt...it skipped. The balance shaft belt broke and knokced the timing belt off 2 teeth.

I replaced the timing belt and the car ran AWESOME!
 
with a timing belt skipping two teeth i'm suprised it ran...plugs and wires may be one problem...could be something in the fuel system...when you punch it it's trying to get fuel and it's not...your injectors could be dirty...replace the plugs and wire (that never hurts) and get some injector cleaner...then bring that thing on the freeway and open it up and see what happens
 
yeah, my 95talon is doing the same thing all the sudden, i thought it was a boost leak also, when it hits about 5grand rpm it all the sudden starts to Bulk, n spatter, somtimes it bulks around 2grand rpm. sometimes the bulking is so strong it nearly move me around my seat. u can fell the bulking coming along, n i just punch the gas, it would be fine, no bulking. i still havn't solve the probelm yet:confused: if u could email me back at [email protected] tell me how u fix ur bulking, would be great.

I would check your spark plugs and wires. My laser did that, now it runs good :p Now i just gotta figure out how to get traction with the added power i got hehe fwd sux :p
 
Something else that can happen is you might have a split or an air leak in between the air flow sensor and the turbo. When you accel gently you will find the motor torque up doesn't happen but when you punch it the motor will move opens up an extra inlet for uncounted air which totally stuffs the air/ fuel. its an easy check and no cost cos if it is running ok when you accel gently would sort of rule out plugs, wires and timing issues. Seen it before hope thats all it is Good luck!
 
When the Rpm is on the 5g mark, it would sputter & alittle bit shaky, punch the gas n it would be aright. i hate driving on up on an incline, it would bulk more often, when ever it wants to! the sounds goes errrrrbulkerrrrrrbulkerrrrrrrbulk-this type of bulking happens on third gear often. :cry: :barf:
 
Over 5 grand when you punch it, see if your air /fuel is ok at that high a rpm it will count out a reasonable leak but you wont feel the difference but your air ratio will show it. but at lower it matters heaps!! Worth a try!
 
i had the same problem last week, get your self some new t-clamps and housing for your piping, im sure thats your problem. if its not then get your self some new plugs in wires but im pretty sure it will be your pipes haveing a bad leak. good luck let us know
 
i just spent $120 on NGk wires today, going to see if that well fix it. i check for leaks between the airflow meter n the turbo, everything seems to be tight. when it bulks the bov would release air, u could hear bzzzzz!! check the plugs, regaped it to .030. they r NGk plugs, had it for 4 months
 
I just read your profile, it states that you do not have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You NEED one with your Walbro 255 pump. You are running terribly rich more than likely due to high fuel pressure.
 
yahhhh, it turn out to be the spark plug wires, the bulking is gone,:D 2 month i been riding with bulking, with that much experience, maybe i should go sign up for rodeo clubs. now i have to figure out y my ride is burning oil, God i love DSMs
