Hi, iight I have a problem wit my car. The car is puffing smoke. A - LOT..... I mean this, there is alot of smoke and I can't figure out what it is. The turbo is making a weird SuperCharger Noise now and I don't know what this could be. The smoke is a white/gray cloud puffing alot after boost (Vacum). There is 2 things I know happend to the car. I took off the BOV and noticed that some rubber gasket from around the BOV (stock) had broken off, and been sucked into the engine maybe. I also pulled the DumpTube off the intake after a smoke drive down the road, and noticed there was smoke coming out of the Intake Tube..... So I DONT KNOW whats up?.... I have a warrienty on the car, 3yrs.... The only thing I could think of is that maybe the car was topped off with some NO- Syntec Blend QuakerState oil, and is causing problems! Let Me Know A.S.A.P.!!!!!!1

Thankz,

1) Put your BOV tube back on.

2) Stop driving the car until you figure out the problem.

3) It's not your oil.

4) You most likely sucked something into the turbo, or the intake of the car. Pull the big rubber accordion tube leading to the turbo off, inspect it for anything loose inside of there. Look at the inlet to the turbo, see if any fins are bent, or if anything is lodged in there. Make sure the turbo spins freely. If the turbo seems okay on the inlet side, you're going to need to dig deeper. Either you've got something inside of your engine, or you damaged the exhaust side of your turbo.

If you don't know what you're doing, have it towed to wherever you have it warrantied, and tell them you were screwing with the car, and probably sucked something into the intake. Don't drive it like this, you're just going to cause more damage than you already have.

5) You didn't really just include a 1 after all those !'s did you? Jeez...

When my T25 went out on me, it had made some supercharger noises a few miles before, and then "POOF" White/Grey smoke pouring out the exhaust, a LOT of it. From my understanding,(someone please correct me if I am wrong) when the turbo bearing is shot, coolent leaks into the oil passages from the turbo, and so you start burning that coolant, hence the smoke. Especially if it smells kinda sweet. I know this happened to mine cause of all the coolant in the oil and in the oil lines of the turbo. Just food for thought.

yeah that just actually happend to my 13g about a week ago, smoked so bad that i could fill up streets with it, putting a 14b on this weekend. So most likely your turbo bit the dust.

Same thing happened to my super 16g. What does your boost gauge read when your getting on it? I know that when my turbo started to go i was only getting about 3psi. The whinning is most likely the fins from your compressor scraping on the compressor housing, and ths smoke is from the coolant. I remember driving my car for about 10 minutes like this and all of a sudden i looked back and i couldn't see the road. I was told that this is not bad on the motor your just not going to get the same amount of power out of it. I'm not positive if this if your problem but it sounds just like mine and that is what happend to my turbo.

Check for shaft play.. I had a similar problem and the compressor wheel was scraping against the housing when it spooled. That is probably the loud noise.

I had the smoking problem too and it was the turbo blowing more oil than boost. This is your excuse to upgrade to a bigger turbo.

hey i just installed my 14b with no shaft play just some cracks on the exhaust side. and suddenly it started making the super charged noise its loud and anoying!!! What could it be?? it still boosts fine though i still get full boost!! what could it be??

take off your intake and feel in the compressor housing someting might of flew in there and interfering with the compressor wheel.

Yeah I thought my turbo was dying last night but I woke up this morning, took off my intake pipe and checked for shaft play...didn't move at all (tried side to side and in + out...nothing). The wheel isn't seized either, it spun freely but after I put the intake back on, it wouldn't start. Everything was on, MAF, BCS hose, charcoal box hose, all clamps tight.

Eventually after about five tries of removing and putting back the negative cables, it finally started. Then I went to go drive it again later that night, and I turn it to start, all I hear is a CLICK, the dash lights get dim, and I hear a clicking noise coming from the fuse box...I get my dad, to check it out, all we did was keep trying to start it, reconnect the negative side a couple of times and again it started.

Hopefully it'll start fine from now on....but my boost is spiking really high again up to 16psi without a boost controller, maybe because I just got my 3" downpipe on. I saw a lot of smoke one time I ran my car three times right after the other against my friend, I wasn't paying attention to my gauge so I was probably boosting way high and just blowing hot air. My fuel pump and mbc should be here within the next day or so, I won't have to worry so much about killing my turbo for now.
