Hi I have a 1992 eagle talon Non turbo. It has AC and is standard. My problem is that the rad fan won't automatically turn on. Right now I keep the ac on just to keep the car from over heating, but my ac doesn't work so it is a ok temporary fix.
My question would be where the fuse for the rad fan would be.
Also is it ok that my temperature guage gose up the the right line but not in the red zone?
thanks

92 Laser 1.8 manual

It is in the fuse box passenger side in the engine compartment................. I believe yours is same as mine, row closest to fire wall. right in the middle....take the shell off and try to start it manually........works well..........

Does your car seem to run fine at the right temp while driving then kinda seem to shoot up when you stop, and goes down if you either rev the engine or start moving?

Whoa!! The AC fan not working shouldn't cause the engine to overheat. It sounds like you need a good coolant flush and a thermostat. Look into some of the new "super" thermostats. They are made out of SS and the are suppose to flow better. I am gona try one next time I change mine. I think they are only like $2 more or so.

If you can tool down the highway [that means at over 40mph or so] with the A/C fan off and not overheat, then your cooling system is working okay... The air flow from that speed keeps the radiator cool without using fans. If you borderline overheat even on the highway, then you have a cooling system problem.
I forget where the 'coolant temperature fan sensor switch' is located. [DOES ANYONE KNOW?] It could be defective, or the fan motor could be bad [We're talkin' 'bout the fan on the passenger-side, right? The other fan goes on when using A/C.]

Yes i have tried to drive down the highway with the ac fan off and everyting is ok. I have seen the Rad fan motor move but it moves very slowly and at time not at all. Do you think i should replace it?

Got me???
Either the fan motor is bad, or the wiring to it, or the temperature sensor that triggers it. I cannot tell which from here! Is it possible that you[ or someone that knows about electrical thingies] can disconnect the fan motor, perhaps pull it out [or leave it in there if you can get to the wires easily] and apply 12v from the battery to the fan wires - to see if the fan spins with force. CAUTION... if you do not know what you're doing.... then don't; find someone who will safely do the test without blowing something up. then you'll at least know if the fan is defective or if it's somewhere else!
I do not know much about the circuitry... ANYONE: IS THERE A RELAY BETWEEN THE SENSOR AND THE FAN MOTOR????

I was actually refering to the relay (my fault, LOL, i forgot to say relay)
in my first post.....that how i found out my fan was working well......but it was caused by a BAAAAAD battery so if if doesnt work when you remove the relays shell then YOU prolly need a new battery;)

Let me interpret!!:
.. Shell - the plastic relay cover
.. Try to start it - push on the relay contact to connect it to the other contact

BUT I would test the motor this way:
Find the fan relay [in the compartment under the hood on the passenger side] and pull it out. [There are annoying little plastic tabs that must be bent a bit to allow the relay to come out.] It should have MB183865 printed on it. Look at the 4 pins. Two of them are copper color. Those pins connect to the contacts inside the relay. Figure out which 2 'holes' those copper pins plug in to on the fuse block. [It should be the ones closest to the windshield -or- the left ones as you stand pressing your body against the fender.] Now, with the key OFF, take a small piece of wire, or needle-nose pliers, or some other metal thing and bridge across those 2 holes. The fan motor should run hard!!! . . Does it? . . Yes - then the motor is good; no - then the motor or a wire or the relay is bad.
Let me know what you find out!
