I dont believe its the CV joints. Im starting to think its the Rear end.

I did some searching and obviously no one has had this problem before or Im just not searching the right thing.

I have a 4 bolt rear, and a welded center diff, built tranny and new transfercase.

here lately when I reverse from the passengerside wheel area I hear a Loud pop or clank type sound, sounds like metal being tentioned then released, like a plastic ruler hiting a desk. It does this about once per revolution.

does any one have any idea what this might be?

Yeah, check your axles, make sure they are in all the way, and that they are not leaking fluid. Check your rear dif, and see how the oil is doing, or if it leaked out. If you have curbed your car ever, and your wheel is out too much, you can pull the axle out too. I had this happen to me when I hit a curb. I had to replace a lot, it sounds like you are hearing the same thing that I heard. Check this, just incase, because if it IS, it might be too late if you wait.

nah havn't hit any curbs, never been in an accident, just randomly started happening, I think the seal in the area of where the drive shaft bolts to the rear end is leaking.

A good portion of the AWD cars have a limited slip rear differential, which is essentially the same as Posi. Just check the driver side door jamb for an orange sticker. If you hve one, you have an LSD rear end.

yea, probably. Aight thanks guys. And yes I do Have a LSD stock, my car = loaded as far as options went, ABS, AWD , LSD. all sorts of crap.
