Ok I just came back from overseas with the Marines and I have FINALLY gotten to work on my 90 Talon TSi. I have A/f and boost gauges and done all the free mods along with a full 2.5" Buscher Racing Turbo back exhaust. Last night I installed the Buscher Racing Upper Intercooler pipe set and a Hallman Pro Boost Contoller. I took it for a spin and it jumps to 10 PSI great with I really have trouble to get any higher than that. I can but only on the highway at full throttle and 3rd gear. I didn't get a chance to put the upgraded elbow on because I need to build a nipple on it cause I still am running the 14B. I was wondering if not having that elbow is really making such a difference or am i just experiencing a boost leak somewhere. I am going through and checking that after i finish typing this thread but i want a little feed back from people who have done these mods before. Thanks

Just out of curiosity, why would you need a nipple on the elbow? I have the dejon UICP and even on the stock elbow, I don't recall seeing a nipple.
About you building to 10psi, you say you can't get above that, I have to ask, is that where your MBC is set to? Were you able to go above 10 prior to the install of the MBC?
Also, to check for your boost leaks, are you using a leak tester?

There was a leak in the lower IC piping, but things just don't seem right quite yet. As for the mbc's settings I am a little confused myself. It boosts to 10 psi easy and when you do push it past like 5.5-6 she'll keep going to 15. Seems kinda high for a stock 14b. My only concern is while i watch my boost gauge it almost looks like it is going to keep going past 15 psi but thankfully I am usually shifting by that point. I have changed the settings on the hbc and it seems to not make a difference no matter where I set it at. Any ideas? I have the lines hooked up right and i can't find anymore leaks with my leak tester. Maybe an exhaust leak? I can't tell by hearing it or feeling around under the hood. Any other way of checking? Any ideas?

The stock elbow with my 14b has a nipple and I have my hallman boost controller tapped into it. My aftermarket elbow doesn't the nipple yet that i need to tap into.

You must be talking about the J-pipe. The throttle body elbow does not have a nipple on it. As far as your boost rising to 15, it sounds like boost creep. Do a little porting and that should clear it up.

Problem solved...finally, i hope.... cracked manifold gasket between the head and the exhaust manifold. I was speaking of the outlet elbow off of the turbo the whole time. I have a ported 2G TB elbow already.
