Boost creep/1g bov

I just installed a 1g bov on my car and am experiancing boost spikes and was curious if this could be due to a bad seal on the bov(i used a cheap adatper off ebay and some sealant). The boost shoots up to about 19psi and then makes its way down to about 13-14psi at wot. I've never heard of a bov creating boost creep/spikes but wanted to check before i send off my 02 housing and manifold for porting(leaving me without a car!)

Do you have a boost controller? I just went through the same thing not too long ago, thinking how could changing my bov cause creep and some ridiculous spikes. Put on a TurboXS RBV34 cbv and started having issues, put the stock pipe and cbv back on. All good, back to a solid 14psi. Got a hold of a 1G bov and stuck that on, same problems. Spikes up to 18-20psi in 1st through 3rd, and when I'd go WOT in 3rd-5th, it would hold 15psi for a second and then just start creeping up. All the while I had a mbc sitting around but I didn't want to put it on because I wanted to see if I could find any problems other then masking a potential problem with something else. Before this post gets too long, I ended up installing my manual boost controller after I put on my 1G bov and UICP pipe and that took care of the spike and creep issues that arose.

My only mods before that (besides suspension stuff) was a 3" Thermal catback, k&n fipk, and hacked dump tube. Just about the same as what you have listed in your profile...
