Check my profile for my mods. The main ones that will affect my idle are the VPC and HKS 272's. What is happening is that my idle can't make up it's mind where it is going to stay at. During cold start up and even once I'm around operating temperature (150-180) It will either be idle surging from 13-1700, constantly idleing at 15 or 1600 or it will be lower (around 1300). I have found no relationship to why it will be one or the other. The majority of the time I was driving, when I let off the throttle it would stick around 2200 (give or take 200 rpm) and soemtimes would slowly go down after that, or it would stay there until I blipped the throttle a number of times to get it to go back down to anywhere from 1200-1600.
My throttle body was cleaned before we put it on, which was less than 1500 miles ago.
Taking Dave's suggestion (rdrkt) I opted for Wess Hess' IAS (check his site for info on it http://www.hesspower.com/products.htm ) hoping that the problem would be solved by the box telling the computer that it will idle at whatever I set my dials to. This only made things worse. The box activates and deactivates by barely touching the pedal. So when I set it to whatever I want to idle at (i.e. 1100) it will idle around that until I barely touch the pedal. So I'll be going from a stop and slowly letting the clutch out, and when I start to touch the pedal it will go from the 1100 idle to what it would normally idle at.. Which is usually a good 3 or 400 rpm higher and buck the car a little while I'm letting the clutch out. In addition to this, the idle problem is still persisting. But only when I start to step on the pedal. If I blip the throttle it will still sometimes stick high and either slowly come down, or never come down.
I know I'm not all that great at explaining things, but there's just too many things going on for me to understand why it's doing what it's doing. The reason I don't think it's a problem with the throttle cable or TB is because it will suddenly climb from a low rpm to a high one when I am not touching the pedal.
I need some major help on this.
