I have a 1992 Eclipse 1.8 NonTurbo. Since I have owned it it has seemed to have an intermittent miss. Yesterday I was pulling away from a stoplight and the car felt extremely down on power and was smoking and backfiring. The smoke is gray. After getting home , I noticed how gassy the exhaust smelled and I could even see raw gas blowing out on to my driveway. I have done a compression check recently and all cylinders ranged from 190 to 210 lbs. I do have spark and I have used a noid light to check to see if the injectors are getting a signal.
This is where I beleive my problem is. #1 cylinder the noid light is on constantly (may flash occasionally), #2 is steady off, and #3 and #4 are a normal flash/pulse. I used a screwdriver as a stethescope to listen to see if the injectors were clicking and #3 and #4 were clicking.
When I unplug #1 the smoking diminishes greatly but the engine RPM does not change. #2 does not affect the RPM or the smoke. The resistance of #1 and #2 injectors measured below spec but that does not explain the noid light not flashing.

My problem boils down to how can I check to see if it is the wiring, the ECM or the Injectors? I have very little experience working on fuel injected vehicles. I dont even know where the ECM is on my Eclipse.
Help me if you can!
 
Also I pulled a code 41: Injector (Harness and Connector / Injector Coil Resistance)
Would the resistance of the injectors being below spec cause the ECM to develop a permanent problem with driving the injectors?
How should I go about diagnosing the injector wiring?

I had a friend open up the ECM and I could see where two of the drivers fro the injectors had gotten very warm.
Oh well.
What is a cause for a computer going bad like that? I will replace the two injectors that weren't spraying just so I can eliminate a possible risk to a new ECM.
 
I got a new computer from the salvage yard and plugged up and the engine runs very smooth.
The smoke is still very thick. It doesn't smell like gas anymore though.
 
If the injectors are out of spec then they will need to be replaced. The extra resistance would cause the lines to become hot.
