I decided to bo a complete brake conversion for the front. I ordered Powerslot Rotors, 1g 2 piston AWD Calipars, and Metal Masher pads (all came as a kit from DSS, good people) I then got brand new brake lines from prostreetonline.
The conversion was pretty straight forward (only doing the front, not the backs) and I bled the lines the proper way all around the car since I replaced the rear brakes.
But I noticed something: The calipar bracket (inner part) of the 2 pistons kit sits ON the rotor. Right on it. At first I didn't think this was such a deal until I went for a drive.
I could actually here the sound of the calipar contacting the rotor. I've only driven it like this for 3 miles. This is the first time I've ever replaced rotors on a car and I know they are "supposed" to bed with the new calipars and onto the mounting hub for said rotor. But is it supposed to be doing this? Is bedding the process of a brand new calipar moving its way into the rotor?
If this was the rear it would make more sense. I know there is a pin-looking thing that you can use to make the calipar bracker sit out wider and then adjust it to make it move in closer. The fronts have no such device and it is really bothering me since I wonder how I would go about moving the calipar bracket farther out for the fronts.
Thanks for any help as usual.
