Well I'm not sure if anyone remembers my previous problems that I posted about a week or so back about how my car was smoking a lot. Well I had a idea if i removed the exhuast manifold and if i still saw smoke comming out of the engine from the exhuast ports it would obviousily be something to do with the engine and if it didnt smoke then it would be the turbo. Well when i removed the exhuat manifold and i started up the car it didnt smoke one bit, so it must be the turbo right or can it still be something else?
 
Your turbo could be leaking oil into your exhaust. Mine was before it was rebuilt.
 
oh there oil alright more like dripping out. So today I started taking everything out for my evo III 16g that should be going in so hopefully that resolves the problem. But at the same my 02 sensor housing and exhuast is all full of oil too how should i try and clean it out so it wont smoke as much as it did before. Like what would work best to clean out the oil so it would be competely oil free from my exhuast components.?

Sorry for bringing back this old thread back up, but I thought it was better than starting a new one. Well I installed the new turbo and checked everything twice that everything was installed correctly. Once I started up the car I noticed that nothing changed there was still a lot of smoke. Also oil was dripping out but not as much. Another thing I noticed was that where the lower intercooler pipe connects to the turbo a lot of oil was comming out where the gasket is like it was spewing out of the sides. I ended up taking off the exhuast manifold again to see if ther was oil in the exhuast ports. I looked iniside the exhuast ports and I could see that oil was on the valves. So im thinking now that something is wrong with my head. Another thing i noticed that kinda baffled me was that there was water as well on the very edge of the exhuast ports. Has anyone ever had this problem? becuase I really dont know what to do anymore and any info would greatly be apprieciated.
 
if it were the valves seals is it possible that the oil is comming out in that large of a amount? I was also told that it may be the rings but compression is reading out good so I dont think its that but I may be wrong.
 
vavle seals wont have any effect on compression. and yes depending on how far gone they are yes any amount of oil can get in there. there their for a reason to keep oil out, hoestly pull the valve cover check things out
 
When does it smoke? Right when you start it or all the time? What color is it? There is oil dripping out of the exhaust pipe? I am almost positive you can not know if the valve seals are bad or not by taking the valve cover off...and yes they will affect compression.
 
well the car starts smoking pretty much at start up and the color of the smoke is whitis bluish. oh and the oil is comming out of the o2 sensor housing becuase the dowpipe isnt connected.
