A few weeks ago my car would start to just shake everytime I stepped on the gas and not accelerate. I got a few check engine lights and it was always for cylinder misfires. It turns out the wires were bad. I put new OEM wires on ( 2 weeks ago ) and today while I was rolling off a light I stepped on the gas. Same thing happened ... car just vibrated but didn't go anywhere. As soon as I let off the gas and got back on it it was fine. This happened twice today. Almost as if the wires are going to go out again. Is there a point where the stock wires can't keep up and I NEED to have afternarket ones? Wh would sock ones not be sufficient? Thanks....

stock wires are smalll....really small...if u get lots of mods and start producing more horsepower its just not gonna be able to take it, its not just stock wires...its any kind of small wires like them

so...get NGk's and give it a shot...if that dont work then u have a bigger problem...and it would be time to go to the drawing board...

there are people running 10's on stock wires. Im sure they can handle alot of power.

yea I thought plug wires were sufficient too but I replaced the plugs a few weeks bck so I know that can't be the problem and it's gotta be someothing with ignition. I'm pretty sure its the wires again ( it only really happens when I step on the gas hard in 1st gear right now .. all the other gers are normal and it only sometimes happens in 1st ) ... I guess I will try new wires. :( more money

make sure your not arching your wires. Thats the only thing I can think of that would cause your wires to keep failing.

if you replace the wires and it still happens check the following:

coil pack
power transistor
spark plugs themselves
cam angle sensor

the plugs are NGK-T ... the wires are just oem. I'm not getting any codes now and it only does it once in a while, but before I changed the plugs I was getting " cylinder 4 misfire "
