I have a eclipse and i have tuns of constant white smoke from my exhaust, i suspect its a coolent leak. How do i perform a leakdown test?

White smoke means turbo I believe...but as far as testing for a coolant leak test, not sure. I don't want to sound like an d1ck, but have you checked your coolant level while the car was cold to see if that is what is going on?

Goodluck with it,
Jeff

I'm sure you can rent a pump from autozone. It takes the place of the coolant cap, and you just pump it up to pressurize the coolant system. You should see, or hear, your leak.

Hope this helps.

I recommend replacing the radiator cap as well since you cant tell if the radiator cap is leaking since the tester replaces the cap. Also on the test does the coolant have to be drained from the engine or can you do the test with the coolant in the engine? Will this show a blown headgasket if coolant is leaking out the back of the engine?
