Alright I have a incident with skipped timing and destroyed all the exhaust side valves. Now we got the head off and the Pistons have imprints on the top of them from when the valves hit them, imprints and some gouges in the tops of them but no actual broken off pieces, do they need replaced or can I do my best to smooth them out and be fine, I didnt know if the tops have to be smooth or if these imprints and what not will affect performance. Next the same thing the valves came back up and hit the head and put some imprints and gouges in the head, do I need a new head or can i just smooth out the rough spots, for both the pistons and the head it was really only 2 cylinders that got the most damage the other 2 cylinders were pretty much fine. Let me know what you think, because i dont know if they can be smoothed or if it would affect performance somehow.
