Does anybody know how to cure this problem? I replaced the sensor and reset the ecu and the CEL still shows up and both fans still run. Anybody know what else I can do?

Is there more than one sensor on the thermostat housing?

I know on the 1gs there is more than one, so if replacing one, you may not fix the right on. One is for the guage, one for the ecu, and one is to the fan. So one can be bad and the other two work just fine.

I had to replace the one going to the ecu (it was reading -17 degrees all the time). The fan still came on and the guage worked properly.

Sorry I can't remember if the 2gs are the same.

Hope this helps.

As far as I can see there is two sensors on the thermostat, one for the gauge and other one is coolant sensor for the ecu. Can anyone else verify that 2g have more than 2 sensors? My car still has the Cel and is always running in the failsafe mode(both fans running all the time once the motor is started and hard cold starts due to running in failsafe mode or nominal operating temperatures). So if anybody has had this problem please help me out
sorry the code is P0115=Engine Coolant Temperature circuit
