Creaking noise when coming to a stop...possible brake problem or motor mount?

I cannot deteermine whether I have a brake problem or a broken motor mount. When I come to a stop, I get this creaking sound that sounds like somthing is crunching together wrong. I thought it was a brake problem, but I checked the rotors and brakes which both are relatively new and did not notice anything strange. I also noticed the sound when going around corners at slow speeds, so it leads me to believe its a motor mount. It only makes sound at low stopping speeds.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

My car used to make noises like that, but now that I have Prothane polyurethane motor mounts it went away. Got them at slowboyracing.com for around $90. They are only in red, which is kinda lame, but color doesn't weigh as much as as performance to me. It feels so much better. The motor mounts are such a tight fit I had to hit a block of wood with a hammer onto the mounts to get them back in. I love them though it feels better going around corners like the engine is actually attached to the rest of the car. Also you can only feel more vibration at <1000 rpms, so pretty much only time I can feel the engine is while I'm stopped or just about to stop at a light and backing up. You could just keep the rpms up if you wanted to while your stopped but my sub puts out more vibration than my engine so I don't care

I found the problem today. It was a broken motor mount.
