Misses after changing plugs/wires?

Alright, so I changed my old beat up plugs and wires to some 8mm Accel's and some NGK 6e's gapped to .28(same as old plugs), and ever since, my car started to miss. I'm not quite sure if it's considered a miss, but if you're standing behind my car, my exhaust puffs.. It's kind of weird actually. So I figured that the plug wires were causing it, so I put my old ones back in, and it's still doing it. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?

Sure, but it's going to cost you a virtual beer.

_Assuming_ your work was good I'd check for exhaust leaks. Does it pop on deceleration? This is a good sign you are sucking air into the exhaust which is mixing with the unburned gasses and causing a minor explosion in the ehhaust system. Check the exhaust manifold nuts for they are notorious for coming loose and falling off. Check the flange to exhaust pipe joint for they too will get loose. Get someone to help you press an old rag against the exhaust tip while you look/listen for pressure leaks. You are not trying to plug up the exhaust tip, only to develop some pressure which will reveal any leaks.

And then the more serious aspect could be early stages of a burned valve. For this you will have to do a compression check.

Yeah bigjangin has the right idea, I assume. When I rebuilt my engine it had a problem where it was running bad like you say yours does.

You need to make sure that the order of the plug wires is 3214. So that means that if you have the 1 going to 1 and 2 going to 2 and so forth you have to swap the 1st and 3rd plug wire. Only need to change the wires on the other end of the wire going to the coil. So leave the wires like they are on the spark plugs.

the order is different on differnt years I believe. On my 95 gsx, it goes 4,1,2,3. One cool thing I found out is that the mounting bracket that the coils are attached to has the firing order etched into them. Its on the part that faces out, you would probably have to take out the coil pack to see it though.

My '92 GSX is the same...
 
The wire configuration is the same for all years (turbos anyway).

If you were to turn the 2g coil pack 90 degrees counterclockwise, it would be in the same position as the 1g pack. So 4-1-2-3 is the same. Just look at BlackViper's diagram.
