auto block into 91 gvr4 need HELP *pics*

I purchased an automatic 92 tsi longblock for my gvr4, i finally finished the swap today and tried to start it.. first thing i hear when priming the engine is this nasty starter noise like its grinding metal on metal extremely bad.. I look in the inspection plate and there is metal shavings and i can tell the flyhweel has clean metal showing. Now when i put the tranny on i noticed that the auto block did not have the pin in the crank to hold the fly wheel like my original motor did. when i put the flywheel on i removed the flexplate and the black spacer behind it so it was a clean flush surface.. also to note on the motor i received is that it did not have the same throttle body setup as my stock motor either..it had a throttle body like on a honda with a lip. hopefully i didnt get an NT motor but it had the turbo oil pan as well. oil feed was not hooked up but was not plugged either.


Also to note..the starter did crank the motor, i could see the belts and timing belt moving.

Any ideas here? did i do somehting wrong?

i have a feeling i will be removing the tranny to figure this out.

you bought an engine off an automatic 4g63? and your car is an automatic too or is it a 5speed?

why did you swap the engine?
did yours blow up?
if yours is a 5speepd why didnt you use all your fuel system and intake manifold and tbody (this is assuming you use to have a 6boltbefore) if not get that stuff fromthe junk yard.
Also did you reuse that spacer you have holding in your hand?
cuase if your car is a 5speed you dont need that and if you used it it probably put the flywheel too far away from the starter motor and the metal shavings may have been cause the teeth on the starter only engaged part of the teeth on the flywheel.
hey man i know this cause i just finished doing a sixbolt swap on my 95gst and although it idles like shit(getting there) it works good.

oh and cams on that engine are too small if you have a 5speed:dsm:
 
um..i wasnt reading all the way..

You should have used your fuel rail, injectors, FPR your intake mani and tbody and all sensors, your cams from the old engine and i guess cam gears too and by the looks of it you may have to take the tranny apart once again
what a pain
me im just frutrated with my idle speed it sucks major cheeze balls but little by little im getting close to finding the cure for it

car is a 5speed, the motor came from an auto. that plate that im holding up i did not use, i also did swap over everything fuel related aswell as the intake manifold. i posted up those injectors to see if there nt or turbo as they came in the engine i received. i also do not plan on swapping the cams, i will just leave them as i do not care to even dig into this motor anymore..it is my first dsm and this motors are probably the most anoying thing to me at the moment... ive only had the car 3 weeks and the motor let go on me the first day i had the car...
 
LOL ......same story here my engine gave out 950 miles after i bought mine and its been out of comision for like over a year now.
i dont know what to say
although for the injectorss i think the blue top one is a 450 and the other three are 390s although i may be wrong
BTW you think thats an anoying engine just wait tillyou get idle surge and stalling at every shift......this is when things get really interestin
 
I have a feeling that with my school and work schedule if that were to happen it would probably push me enough to jump off a building ...the damn traffic jams alone will do it to me some day im sure hahah :p
