Transmisson case cracked?

Just got a call from the dealership and they tell me my 90' AWD talon has a cracked case, broken gears and needs a new tranny. Does anyone know if I can put my 91' GSX tranny in it? It was a roll-over but the tranny is OK it grinds into second but I hear that GMsyncro-mesh could fix that problem. Any help would be great also if anyone knows where I can get a nice used tranny let me know. Thanks

You can put the 91 tranny in as long as it has the same spline count. OR you can put the 91 tranny in along with the transfer case for the 91 and you should not have any problems.

What case is cracked? The tranny case? Or the transfer case?

They say the tranny case is cracked. If it was the x-fer case it would it be under warranty? I have not seen it yet. Also where do I count the splines?

you can also easily change the output shaft from your 90 to your 91 transmission.. just take the out side part of the case off.. pull off the snap ring in there, remove the viscous coupler, and slide the shaft out.

swap shafts, and you dont have to worry about a t-case swap
