tranny/clutch problem

for the last couple of days my transmission has been acting up. from a stop, it tends to pop first gear out. it was just every now and then but now it's pretty much all the time. today when coming home from work my clutch pedal stuck on the floor, popped first gear out and wouldn't allow me to go into anygear. my second gear has been a problem from time to time as weell just in the way of shift quality. i need some help w/ this. please. it's a problem and i need a diagnosis.

sorry...cont my speedo has also been malfunctioning. it jumps around and actually reads much faster than i am actually going.= more miles shown any help greatly appreciated.

Have u checked for crankwalk? any noises from the clutch?

Sounds to me like a hydrolic problem. Check your fluid level in your master cylinder. Also check for leaks in that and the clutch slave cylinder. If that isn't the problem, it might be time for a transmission rebuild. A stuck clutch though sounds to me like crankwalk.

sorry it took so long to respond. the clutch had been making a slight popping noise when engaged ans disengaged, there was a slight scuffing or rubbing sound from the genaral area where the trans is.

i just went out to look for leaks. when it origionally happened i still had some clutch pedal pressure. i just went and touched the pedal and it fell to the floor. is this just a hydraulic prob?

slave cylinder definately shot, it's dripping hydraulic fluid. i looked at the pics at vfaq of the replacement process and it seems as though there is a lot more room to work. i do realize that it was a 1G. is there just *A LOT* less room on a 2G, or do i have another problem, like bent support beam? it looks as though that is what took the brunt of my bottoming out on a raised manhole cover. would that maybe have severely bent causing it to come extremely close to the trans? thanks.

Removed slave cylinder and in the process, broke the hydraulic line at the eye-bolt fitting. Where can I get a replacement hydraulic line?

Just about at any parts store...they can usually bend it for you and everything if you ask nicely...

Don't go and get it bent. The lower slave line is like 10-12 bucks from mitsu. Buy it prebent, that sheezy is very tricky and tempermental, I know, I've replaced it many of times.

Oh yeah, make sure you have some type of sealant to put on the threads!
