2g mas + 550cc on 1gen.

I tried the 2g mas+550cc injector combo on my 93 talon and the it barely stays alive. I have heard of many people doing this with no fuel control.anyway when I plug my 1g mas in it idles fine it just bucks when I rev real high. also I have another 1g mas that is hacked also and when I plug it up it runs like crap. help would be very appreciated. thanks

I tried this mod as well in my GVR4 a while back.. it did NOT work.
So i kept my parts for a while, and bought a SAFC. Works fine now.

I heard it worked too... tried it, called BS, went back to drawing board.

Guess it works for some and not for others....

why is it that when I duct tape the two holes on the side it works perfectly fine. it idles perfect and everything.

this is because the side honeycombs or rather.. the ports behind them, do not monitor air, so your ecu is seeing less air... making you LEAN... yeah, even with the 550's.. probably by about 5-10 % By blocking off the sides you are making your MAF count ALL the air coming in, giving your computer higher numbers for fuel delivery purposes.

if that works for you, then go ahead with it.. good luck with the setup... you should probably get a logger and check your fuel trims, watch your 02 voltages and check for knock... if all is good, then go for it.
If you can lean it out a little, just move your tape over a bit!
Sounds like a decent idea for across the board tuning, provided you don't have a fuel controller. Sorta ghetto style.. but ya gotta start somewhere..

Just get a logger and check out your numbers though.. just to be safe.
