SMOKING.... HELP meeeeeeee

I have a 90 tsi awd, and i have been noticing that when i step on the gas, my exaust lets out a little bluish white smoke..... I think it might be from the turbo b/c when im at 5000 rpm i get a wierd sound from the turbo (probobly on its last leg). What else could it be, or would replacing my turbo solve this problem?

How many miles on your car? Usually the turbo blows out white smoke. Bluish white sounds like you are just burning oil off from bad piston rings.

Well my car has 238 000 kms, i dunno the converstion to miles, but
im pretty sure its the turbo (maybe the seals are worn out)
could be the rings.... how could i go about finding out the problem?

i had a similiar problem with my car. i unhooked the intake pipe between the filter and the turbo and found oil there. i checked for shaft play and found a lot horizontally and vertically. i replaced the stock turbo with a big 16g and have had no problems since. hope my two cents might help you out.

Do exactly as sirhcs did and take off your intake pipe and check for oil and shaft play.
