car wont start, posibly RELAY problem

HAD ANY OF YOU GUYS HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE...my car wont start and i had it checked, mechanic says it the relay gone bad...i just special ordered this part and hope it works...

Also, my other question is would the CPU detect a bad relay because i asked around(mitsubishi dealerships) and they said it wont...just getting second answers from you guys....thanks

What relay did you replace? The ECU might tell you if a major component is bad, but it won't be able to collect all of its data until the car is started. If everything is cool with the electrical system, then when you turn the key, you should get power to the solenoid signal wire going to the starter. Check to see if you get that. Then troubleshoot from there.

yeah, which relay did you replace?
i still haven't been able to find the problem with my gsx not starting. replaced the starter relay, still getting the same results. are you getting a click from inside the center console? that's what i'm getting, found out that it's the MFI relay... thinking that could be my problem. i'm not even getting power at the wire that plugs into the starter solenoid. i really hope i don't have to go through the whole wiring harness to check for a short. i've had the car for over a month, i just wanna drive the damn thing already.

check the fuses off the positive terminal post, one of mine was blown and car wouldnt start. think it was the MPI fuse.
could also be your POS ecu. ive had 3 of em go out on all 3 of my cars and each time they left me walking. car wouldnt start for anything. pull it and see if it smells like fish if so then the caps are leaking onto the board and you'll need a new one. go to an auto parts store and get one with a lifetime warranty if thats the problem.

The MPI, Is it the black box near the ECU that is about 1/3 size of ECU???????? What does it control?? Ive been haveing problems with very low power coiuld this be the PRoblem???? This box vibrates and buzzes very loud causeing the auto seat belts to buzz also........

i got the car starting today...its been the relay...it went bad...i replace those 3 that were mounted in the firewall(FUEL, and 2 ENGINE ELECTRONIC CONTROL)....cost me 100 for all the relays...thanks for all your help...
