Ok Someone Really Needs To Help Me. I Am Looking To Buy A Turbo Version Motor Of The Mitsubishi Eclipse So That I Could Swap It On To My RS. The Problem Is That I Don't Know What To Get. I Know The Engine Is a 4G63 But What Is A 4G63 Non-Turbo Cyclone Engine? Or A 4G63 Turbo Cyclone Engine? I Don't Understand This. Aren't All 4G63 Engines Turboed? Here's Where I Found The Two EnginesClick Here And If I Do Purchase The Motor Would I Still Be Able To Modify It With DSM Parts Such As The SBR GT-Series Dual Ball Bearing Turbo? or Would I Have To Buy Japanese Parts For It? Someone Please Help Me. Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

Dont do it, do you know how much work you are going to have to do? You dont even know which engine to get how are you going to be able to swap the motor out?

-I don't know what motor is in your RS, but there are turbo kit for the 420A motor.
 
Buy a star, zex, hahn or other widely available and tested turbo system for your 420A. The only similarity between your motor and the 4G63 (both turbo and non-turbo) is that they were available in DSM's. Don't worry, Brian Spilner did it successfully.
 
I Do Know Which Engine To Get Which Is A 4G63 And I Do Realize How Much Work I'm Going To Have To Do, But What's Confusing Is That The Site Said There Was a 4G63 NON-TURBO /w FWD or AWD Transmission. But Then I Thought All 4G63 Motors Are Turbos, Aren't They? And How Does a Non-Turbo Have An All-Wheel Drive Tranny?:dsm:

HAHA Brian Spilner What did He Exactly Do? But I Still Don't Understand How a 4G63 is Both Turbo And Non-Turbo. I Thought All 4G63s Were Turboed And What The Hell Is A Cyclone? Is That A JDM Motor Only Available In Japan Or Is It Also Here In The U.S.? if Any One Finds Info & Specs On It Please Send It To Me.

-Your budget is very tight if you don't plan on doing the work yourselve, motor + tranny is $1400 and up, you also need the ECU; entire harness, TCU(auto tranny); intercooler & pipe....also Do you believe a 13 yrs old motor with only 40k miles on it? , if you do then get an JDM motor, or get a wrecked turbo car and get part from it.

Thanks Man, I Like Your Idea.My Dad Is A Mechanic And So Are My Uncles So Yeah I'm Getting Them To Help Me Out On This Swap. And The TCU Your Talking About What Is That? Do I Need It If I Want A 4G63T With An Automatic Tranny?

Installing a 4g63 into an RS is difficult, keep in mind that they bolt up completely different. (tranny on pass. side in 4g63, whereas in a 420a is on driver's side) Your best bet on your budget is going to be turboing your 420a. Go with the 4g63 if you really want, just keep in mind its not a simple boltup job, its very involved....

-With your $3500 budget, you can get an reasonable quick modified 1G with minimum down time, because you're only 15, most likely this is your 1st car, and most likely you'll crash your 1st car. $.02
 
Yes This Is My First Car, But I Won't Crash. I GUARANTEE IT. I Know Me,My dad, & my Uncles Are Going To Have To Do Some Major Modifications, But It's All Worth It For A 4G63ed Rs. I Won't Stop Working On It Until It Gets That Engine In There And When It's Being Worked On By My Dad & Uncles, I'll Be Taking My Ass On A Yellow Bus Ride To School Everyday. Oh, and One More Question About The TCU. Do I Need It If I Want A Manual Transmission?:dsm:
 
Why would you even think about this swap and putting that much time into it if you are just going with a lousy auto tranny? Get the manual tranny.
