i have a 95 tsi fwd auto. it has a mild mods done to the car. i have recently had a misfire problem and i can not figure it out. the car has 2 new coil packs, new magnacore wires and ngk plugs. after about 500 miles of highway driving i get home and at a stop light the car misfires as soon as i take off. light throttle its only one cylender and under more load it seems to be misfireing on 2. i have narrowed it down to number 4 cylender and most lickly number 1 under load because of the same coil pack and the ignition system being a waste spark system . i need help i have only a few days to figure it out because i have to go back to school. any help would be great.

4 and 1 share the same coil. Make sure you have the right progression of wires. 4-1-2-3. Did the problem happen before all the new ignition mods? If not, try the old stuff. Make sure you're not getting oil in the cylinder wells. That'll create a path to ground for th spark. If you're getting that, you'll need new seals in the valve cover.

checked for both oil and water and found nothign. it seems to me like the only thign left to check is the ignition moduel. that will be here tomorrow. if thats not it ill just have to burn it.

changed the ignition moduel and still dose the same thing. what is the power transistor? is there another name for it. anyone have any otehr ideas.

i found out what it was. it wasnt getting a signal from the mas sensor to the pcm according to the super afc. well i was getting voltage from teh wire that went to the afc but not to the pcm. i unpluged the wire from teh afc and just hooked it back to the pcm and fixed the problem. my next ? is how often do teh afcs go bad?
