Alright, I was doing 2nd 4rd and 4th gear pulls on the expressway tuning, I did about 3 of them total. The car is ready to run but then I hear a loud noise/vibration coming from the car. So I stop and look to see if my exhaust bolts or something had come undone, well nothing did. So I keep driving and it only usually makes the noise when I am off the gas and slowing down, or starting up or get into higher rpms. It also stops the noise when I push in the clutch. SO...I get home, my dad and I take the valve cover and head off....Fine. Now we think its the trans, I sounds like something from the trans.

Alirhgt, My dad maybe thinks the gear for the starter is hitting the flywheel, take starter out and it looks fine.

The car drives normal and goes in ever gear and boosts, but it makes a horrible noise. We are thinking a flywheel, clutch, flywheel bolt came undone or the Throwout Bearing is bad, we don't know, we are taking the trans out tonight to look and see. My question is are we thinking wrong and is there anything else it could be. Thanks for the help if you can. Driveshaft maybe? idk I need help, thanks.

Sounds to me like a driveline problem. Check out the entire driveshaft. Also, ahve you done the transfer case recall? Check out your t-case. If you can't find a problem in either of those two locations, perhaps its balance shaft related.

let me know when you find out what's up with your car. i think i may have the same problem but i don't know. it makes noise at higher rpms (from 2.5k rpm) and when i begin to let off the gas. but once totally off the gas, it goes away. doesn't happen when revving in neutral either.

hey guys my car is doing the exact same thing and it just started out of nowwhere but my mechanic and me were able to determin the noise was comming from where the driveshaft meets the transmition. whene we but it up on the lift we found the bellhousing was moving by about an inch that was due to a missing bolt. (so check your bellhousing). after fixing that it still did it but not quite as bad. from their we noticed that the trans just stuck out from the motor with no supports or mine was missing one we wernt sure so we made one out of some steel and now the noise is almost gone when it is increasing in rpm's and is just mostly on the way back down now.

somwtime this week we are going to drop the tranny and look at it and replace the flywheel and clutch

if anyone knows where I can either find a pic of the bottum of someones car or some scematics on the trans and surrouinding area please let me know

just for everyone info I've only had the car for a month and its been doing it for the last 3 1/2 weeks

not he throwout bearing because the noise stops when you push in the clutch, therefore loading the bearing.
Not the starter because the ring gear is not engaged when the engine is running.

I'm not trying to start anything, but bolts don't just fall off. Whoever did the job before didn't torque it to spec.

Another prime example of why I am the only person who touches my car :D I don't trust anybody anymore!

WHat happened is that my dad forgot to use locktite on the flywheel bolts, he happened to put the flywheel on while I was at work. I'm not supid, they where torqued but not locktited. Thanks and goodbye.
