 Ok, I'm sick of working on this car. I have 2 problems...
1. My timing belt makes a high pitch noise. Sounds like a big turbo winding up. THe pitch varies directly with the RPM. I took off the Timing belt cover and saw belt dust around the Oil Pump Gear (not a lot). It looks like the lip on the outer side of the gear is just rubbing on the edge of the Timing Belt. It also looks like the timing belt is just barely rubbing in the bottom of the timing belt cover. I can't move the cover enough to make it clear the bottom. Is the harmful? Is it going to shorten the life of my belt. Is there a fix?

2. I have a random miss at constant RPM and Decel... no matter what RPM. The car pulls strong when accelerating. I checked the Power transistor, the Ignition coils, the Camshaft Position sensor, Spark plugs, replaced the plug wires, I cleaned the injectors, fuel pressure is 40psi (I set it a little high), Replaced the TB Shaft seals and TB Gaskets. The A/F Gauge says I'm not running lean, So...I give up.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, since no one else replied... here's the answer.

A while back I broke the rear silent shaft.
So I had the local dealer install a silent shaft removal kit.
Well, last week I was changing my oil and had this idea to use a magnet to see if there were any metal shavings or such in my oil pan.
Guess what...when I stuck the magnet through the oil drain hole I got a big surprise...It was the short shaft that went in the oil pump gear where the silent shaft used to be.

After an engine front cover removal...(a big pain in the ass) the damage became apparent.

What I thought was timing belt noise turned out to be the driven gear of the oil pump shoving the smaller gear into the oil pump wall, thus shaving away the wall. Also when i turned the oil pump gears, (since the damage had already been done), I noticed that the smaller gear would catch on the grove it had made in the oil pump wall. This might explain the random miss.

It also explained other mechanical noises I was hearing.

Then end result was lots of aluminum shavings going thru the oil system.
The oil cooler was full of aluminum bits. I can only hope the oil filter caught the aluminum bits before they reached the rest of the motor, since I didn't find any in the oil pan.

And a new engine front cover.

A few other side effects : the short shaft had almost beat a hole through the oil pan. The oil pressure relief valve had jammed on some of those bits.
