Anybody ever had this problem? Could it be the valve seals? I really don't have a clue. compression read 152, 150, 150, 151. and the tailpipe smokes at idle (white), when gas is depressed it releases a big cloud, then goes away. engine doesn't miss, turbo spools fine, but it sounds like it has an exhaust leak.

if anybody has an idea let me know.

I am having the same problem after just replacing my valve cover and gaskets and oil cap.. help!! also, the oil dipstick blows out now when it didn't before...

I agree with Talonracer18 about checking on your turbo seals. As for the dipstick problem mentioned by Dragonsys, this is caused by excessive pressure in the crankcase, which could be caused by a bad pcv valve, or could be a sign of excessive blowby due to bad rings. I'd just check the pcv though.

well i did notice smoke coming from the exhaust leak between the exhaust manifold, and the head. well before the turbo, and when the throttle is actuated the smoke billows out from underneath the heatshield. i"m pulling the head tomorrow, and i'm gonna check it out.Turbo seals, head, gaskets.

A bad turbo can also shoot the oil back upstream into the exhaust manifold and even into the exhaust ports of the head, so that would be another sign of a bad turbo.

You may also want to see if you have any antifreeze left because white smoke is usually antifreeze burning (head gasket). Blue smoke is oil, and black smoke is gas......Try using a coolant pressure tester on your cooling system with the spark plugs out and see if it holds pressure or antifreeze squirts out the spark plug holes.
Good Luck!
