battery?

i got my alternater rebuilt and bought a cheap car is still not startin correctly. i use a charger to get it started could it be the battery cause its cheap. forgot got to mention im a newbe. thanks in advance. also is there any hop parts for a 91 laser non turbo. any cheap mods i can do.

Once the car is running, disconect the battery. If it dies, then your alternator is bad. If it doesn't then you should check the battery, and the cable ends, both at the battery, and at the other end. As for hop up parts, check the home page of this web site and look for the 1G nonturbo section.

With my car (93 Talon ES), it would turn over really slow but would eventually start up. If I put it on a charger it would start right away, but if it was off the charger for more than an hour it would turn over really slow again. Went to Checker, had my battery tested, found out it was bad, spent $80 on a new battery, problem solved. Just go somewhere with free electrical testing and they'll tell you if it's the battery or not.

check the fusible link in the fuse box that let's the alternator power the batery also. If it's blown then the alternator can't charge the battery.

I had a simaler problem and it turned out to be that the wires on the starter were not tight enought. Far as the batt. is concerned if I was you I would do what I did, I bought a Optmia red top and everything works fine now that the wires are tight. The battery was 110.00 at advanced auto parts. That was the cheapest place I found it.
