I have tried to research this but no one problem on this DSM site seems to be the same thing that I am experiencing. Anyway, to the problem.
When I first start the car the Idle will go up to about 2000 - 2500 rpm and a couple seconds later it will go down to about 1000. Is that normal? But the real problem is, after I have been driving for a while, I stop somewhere and I try to start the car again, the idle will go up to about 1500 then it will immediately go down and stutter between 100 - 750 rpm (needle just keeps going up and down). Sometimes the car will die and sometimes i can hit the gas to get it back up and then it will run fine. Any thoughts?:talon:

I have the exact same problem!

Before I bought the car it was brought in to check the problem and the mech said it was the O2 sensor coupled with the Catalytic converter.

But I have not had that problem check by myself.

also note.

I brought my car into the shop yesterday because I was having problems with my clutch

Turns out its bad. the mech said that the bad clutch might be causing the problems with the idle but I doubt it.. We will see =)

I will report back once I have had the clutch replaced.

Cheers.
Jonathan.

our cars start out idling high and then bring themselves back down...search for idle surge, etc its a common problem and it doesnt really hurt anything as mine has been doing it since i bought it like 20,000miles ago.

when i brought my car in to get the clutch replaced my mech cleaned out the hole fuel injection system along with other parts and after a few days of getting the car back the problem was gone. =)
