The car is a 93 Talon TSi AWD 5-speed manual.
My first gear will pop out sometimes when I am at a stop. I put it in first and as soon as I start to go it will lightly pop out of gear. Other times, I will start to go and it will SLAM out of gear.
It was really bad until last week when I replaced the slave cylinder. I replaced the cylinder, put on a SS clutch line, bled clutch, readjusted pedel, and took it for a drive. The car felt good and it didn't pop out at all for a few days.
Now the problem is back just as strong as before. Everything seems tight, but my clutch fluid is kind of dark already. The pedel engagement and pressure is still the same as after I bled it and drive it the first few days. Both cylinders are brand new.
I am thinking that it is the syncros, but I am not sure. I have some sort of clunk (not shock strut related) on the passenger side, but it doesn't seem transmission related. If anybody has any ideas, please let me in on them!
Its weird though, I can make my transmission stay in first gear without poping out of I do this... When coming to a complete stop, at about 5mph, clutch in, and put it in first gear. When I get to about 3mph I will accelerate just a bit in first gear and then stop. At the stop, I will keep the clutch in and the tranny in first. When its time to go, it will always stay in gear then.
Also I was going to attempt the rebuild myself, but I am thinking of just taking it somewhere insted. What can I expect for labor charges?
Thanks
