WHy me??? POS dipstick!

Well Im changing my oil and everythings done and im pulling out my dipstick to check the level and what do you know? the handle comes off into my hand and the rest of it slides down about 2 inchs into the dipstick housing tube. Me and a friend tried to get it out with all sorts of crap. anyways where can I find a replacement at, ive looked all over the net.


Can you just get em from a kragen or something also? and if the dipstick part slides all the way down into the oil pan will it bother anything if i leave it there?

it should be possible to pop up the entire tube that the stick goes into.If so you can easily get access to the stick itself and you can pull it out.I WOULD NOT leave it loose there and go driving...bad idea.

I bought my dipstick from satan, it was only $10 I think.

I just bought a new dipstick from "Satan" here in Fort Wayne...it was $20......the same thing happened to mine and I was able to fish out the old dipstick with some drum brake tools.....I snagged the hole in the end....
