Popping noise with new type-s

k so i just get my greddy type-s bov in the mail and of course i rush to put it in, but anyway, i had to vent it for a bit just cause you NEVER EVER EVER hear Blow off valve's here in Edmoton, so its funny cause every single person just turns their heads with the mouths wide open. but to get to the point, i was sitting at a light and i was just revving my engine to like 5 or 6 rpm, and then of course since i am venting to the atmosphere it almost dies and bogs out, but n e way twice in a row when i did it, once it dropped to like 3-500 rmp i heard a LOUD popping noise! i was like but when i tried doing it again, it didnt do it, just the two times it did it in a row? any ideas?

I couldnt tell ya what the popping noise is, but dont vent to the atmosphere anymore!!! If ya want people to hear the BOV just get an intake with an open-air filter, trust me, they'll still hear it just as good!!

intake with an open air filter? what do you mean? i want it to be loud, what else can be done without sacrificing performance?

if you use a K&N filter for instance ..or an Injen Intake(an open air filter)

the sound of the BOV will for sure be heard just as good and ppl will still look if you want them to ...I have the TypeS with a K&N and trust me..they hear it ;-)
If you route it back to intake w. a open air the car will run as it should and you still get the BOV sound...

Route it back..... my advice.

i allready routed it back into the intake and i do have a k&n filter but it isnt very loud at all. like i am all about performance and not spending a billion dollars on gas, but i want the bov noise, sorry for ppl that think im a ricer, IM NOT! its just that no one up here in Edmonton has a BOV.

well if you have the K/N + hard pipe and routed back ,and still isnt being heard..then something else is wrong.You see my setup above and I can assure you that its loud and clear I scare bicycleriders of the street sometimes da*n it**

Even with a stock rubber piping I got my BOV to sound real good with a 3KGT BOV.....

wow thats wierd, did it only do it once? was it really loud? if not, could have blown off a vaccuum line. check and make sure your line from bov to intake mani is still on.

you hit it right on the money eurogstspyder, that'll solve yur problem domenico. But still have no idea about the poppng noise.....thats a little wierd.....i guess if it wont do it anymore yur probly fine. Do get an open filter though, you wont be disappointed. No your not a ricer, the BOV sound is pimp as hell! Have fun man.
