hi guys, I have a weird ass problem w/ my clutch pedal. At the moment it's still stock and I'm just a little over 90K on the car.

Every morning after the car's been sitting the clutch pedal will hardly have any kind of pressure to it all. I actually don't feel any pressure til its almost to the floor. But after it warms up and by the time I get to work in the morning it starts to feel fine but still bit loose.

The other day I was coming back from a one hour drive when suddenly I had ZERO pressure on my clutch pedal! I had to stick my foot under the pedal to lift it up but after that it was fine. This only happened twice.

I guess the common factor here is this only happens when the car is cold. Any suggestions?

thanks in advance! :D

Happened to me last week. Thought for sure I had the dreaded Crank Walk. Stuck in Queens for 6 hours. Turns out the fluid leeked out a fitting on the clutch hydraulic pump. $300 and 6 hours later I was on my way.

How's your fluid level?

level is just fine. I even checked for leaks around the firewall and everything is tight as a drum.

the only thinkg I find so odd is why it would only happen after the car has been sitting for awhile. On the weekends I only drive my wifes car but when it comes to Monday morning my clutch is limp until my car warms up. Even warmed up it still doesn't feel "100%" :(

How old's that fluid? Get an SS line from RRE and flush the system.

Stupid question, but I'm a hurry.. and... do I use same thing I use in the manual tranny for clutch fluid?

Clutch fluid is Brake fluid. Tranny fluid is totally different. Back to the clutch, use any kind of brake fluid with a DOT 3 or 4. Check your slave cylinder for leaks. Your clutch may be going bad too if you are seeing any leaks. My stock clutch went out at 80k.

oooo, eek no. The transmission fluid is grease, you want brake fluid like mramc3 said above. It's not nearly so crucial in the clutch hydraulics as in the brake system, because you're not dealing with the heat. DOT 3 is plenty.
