check the attached image guys.. any clue where that connects to? all my stereo functions are working.. so don't know if its anything from there.. any opinions, comments, help is greatly appreciated.. thanks in advance

Either the data cable/control cable for the CD changer in the hatch, or the cable to the under-passenger-seat amp. How many pins? The changer's 13, I think, the amp's.... 7? Rats, I forget.

Do you have a CD changer?

Like Defiant said... It's either the CD Changer cable or the Cable that runs to the Amp under the passenger seat. I believe from the picture that it is the CD changer cable.

BTW... my car didn't have a CD changer but it had the cable installed for it.

The Eclipses got the cable with or without the changer (which makes throwing in a changer a cool job). Talons and Lasers didn't. However, they _do_ have the power plug in the harness, mine was in the rear bulb access cover.

thanks for the reply guys.. i checked the back of the stock 95 head unit (wit aux input LOL and everything seems to be conencted properly.. i do have a cd changer.. but its already hooked up.. you see that red wire in the pic.. thats the cable for the cd changer.. its really weird.. and now i ran into another connector/harness type thing that isnt plugged into anything.. ill post about it later.. i think you guys are right that it might be another plug for a changer not connected to anything? cause the pins are the same amount as the one i already DO have for the cd changer..

Is your changer a Mitsubishi, or a Pioneer? Mits had to dick around with a couple of pins so it's not compatible (naturally). Or, is it some other brand? Are you running the Infinity head? Factory amp under the passenger seat?

you know... As I have been tearing through shit in my car, there are alot of damn plugs that are not connected and have no where to go. I see that on alot of cars. I dont know what the hell it is about car companies, but they seem to like doing that, probily just so people like us see them and feel stupid because we dont know where they go or what the hell the purpose in them is. But hey, as long as everything works, it doesnt matter.

It's the economy of wiring harnesses. First I'd seen it was on my Datsun roadster, all of them were factory wired for foglights (even the switch- you twist the headlight switch to turn on the fogs). I believe the T/E/L are all wired for the Eclipse, which seems to be the most gee-gawed car. I'm hoping the wires will be there for the power antenna, when I get around to it.
According to the factory manual, the turbo cars are wired on both sides for a horn, which will simplify installing the pair I'm putting on to replace the bleating lamb. I've not gone out and laid in the dirt to check it yet.

That looks added-on, was it hooked up to the radio? There's an "extra" socket on the back of the Mits double-DIN radio head, which I suspect is something like an auto-mute for cell phones, and I think used in either the Diamante or 3000. I've never found a full schematic for the Mits radio/CD/cassette unit, I'm curious what else that socket might be for.
