wasted the act 2600?

well i made a boo boo. i wanted to c if i could start off in 2nd gear so i put my car into second and went to pop the clutch... well my big a$$ feet got stuck between the clutch while it was pushed like half in. the engine revved and boosted... but i didnt go newhere idiot

i just got this clutch (act 2600) installed a few weeks ago and hada get used to its weird gripping when shifting... after that happened the clutch is slipping smooth now when shifting and taking off. im just wondering if i wore it in, or wasted the thing.. cant it take more abuse then that??

That clutch shouldn't slip that much... is it slipping when you aren't trying to slip it? Meaning, does it slip when you don't have the clutch pedal depressed? If so, you toasted it pretty good. Unfortunately, I am not that familar with ACT, and it seems that they can cause problems (crankwalk, etc.), so I dont know the fine details about them... I have a Clutchmasters and love it

mayb slipping is the wrong word.. its gripping smoother whenshifting, requiring less gas to start going, not as touchy, feeling more like the stock clutch. im just wondering if i just wore it in or burnt it out. is the 2600 supposed to be touchy or was that cuz it was new...

when i got mine i didnt do a good job of breaking it in. After i got it i drove back home on the freeway doin about 85 and when i got into town i couldnt resist dumping it. but lukily all the dickin off i did with the clutch didnt damage it. so just take it easy and dont dump it. try to feather it without burnin it up. which sounds weird but you'll feel it when you feel it. pz
