3rd gear falls flat on its face...help

Guys and Gals,
Looking for some advice on this perplexing problem

Car setup, 1G Head and 6Bolt block in a 95 AWD
AGPl2r
660 injectors, denso pump
3" exhaust, 3" intake, K&N Filter
Greddy FMIC
DSM Link
18 psi

1st gear pulls great
2nd gear pulls great to redline
shift into 3rd gear and the car leans way out, Timing skyrockets and the car stumbles like it's in limp mode....

I put brand new wires on - no help
I swapped the MAS - no help

Sean and I thought it might be that the BOV is not releasing enough air and slamming into the turbo. After driving it home from his house I really doubt that this is the problem.

The car was backfiring and missing like crazy after I shifted into third on a hard pull and then had to idle for a minute before I could get going again. Then it drove fine until I tried another pull and the same thing happened again.

I am going to swap the coil pack tonight. Do you think that will make a difference?

Any ideas?

do u ever figure this problem out?? kinda sounds like a small boost leak. when you get to third it is probably blowing out becuz of the load. i had a licp once do this, the car drove fine in 1st and 2nd and then in third it would blow off but then fall right back on to the intercooler. it was very perplexing at first becuz it was unseeable but i just decided to grab it one time and it came right up after that the prob was fixed so try that.
