Well, the DSM died on the track yesterday. It was in top top shape (minus 2nd, as usual) and it would run fine one minute. But next thing you know I hear this insane clicking noise from the radio and the car dies. Start it up, head home at 50MPH while the car runs perfect....insane clicking noise and the car dies off.
Anywho, I busted open the ECU today and had a friend solder in three new capacitors. The board part by the "100" capacitor was eaten through from leakage of one of them and the smell of rotten eggs was in the board. Oh, and the ECU had been rebuilt by the previous owner and the warranty ran out last year. Anyway, put it back in the car...and it still dies to clicks.
Sucks bad. But before I go making the big purchase of a used 91-94 AWD Turbo ECU I want to make sure that it can be no other problems. The engine is perfectly fine. The car starts and may even run a mile fine. Then it dies by clicks.
As usual much help appreciated.
