Popping out of 4th while shifting...

Okay. I did a search and figure it's either the clutch fork or synchro. My car is a 99 Eclipse GS-T with 48k miles. So I still have powertrain warranty.

Will this be covered?

OHHH your fuct, This started aheppening to me in my TSI 2G.


Turned out to be a Hub and sleeeve, and a fork, not cheap stuff, probably need new synchros.


RUN to the dealer, it gets worse, bet you never changed you gear oil, should do it Every $20,000 miles.

Yeah, I thought it would be a big repair. Luckily it's not bad yet. And like I said, I am still under Powertrain. I was just wondering if anyone has had a PT warranty replace this?

I have no idea if my gear oil has been changed. I just bought the car used.

Just wanted to update this thread for the Archive and for people to search through...

I took the car to Brandon Mitsubishi in Tampa Florida. After tearing down the tranny they determinned that both my 3rd and 4th gear synchros were bad. They replaced them free of charge since I had powertrain warranty. Process took about a week.
