I want to test my pcv valve under boost. Is there anyway I can get the turbo to boost by reving the engine under the hood?

I recently blew out my dipstick, I did a leakage test and my intake valves are sticking open a little so that would mean boost is getting in there when it shouldnt be right? Causing excess crankcase pressure.

My valve cover breather works fine, I pulled the pcv valve, I can blow through it easily, I also pulled the hose that goes from the pcv to the intake. I make sure it and both fittings where not clogged.

So, basically i want to have the engine under boost just for a second to see if the pcv blows off excess crankcase pressure. But being as there is boost in the intake that will keep the pcv from opening wont it? So my intake valves sticking open is what is causing excess crankcase pressure?
 
Sure, just have your buddy rev it while you hold onto the crankshaft real tight!

Seriously though, the only way to make any boost in neutral is if you have a stutterbox/revlimiter, which places an intermittent load on the engine.

If your intake valves are sticking open, you have more serious problems to address than excess crankcase pressure.
 
or get an aem ecu. with that i know a guy that build 5 psi of boost in neutral. what he does it have the ecu dump in tons of fuel and messes with the timing majorly. trust me it can do it, the guy that designed the aem ecu is helping tune the car

The AEM EMS has an anti-lag function that will be released in the next update of the EMS software (3.15). Basically by retarding the timing and adding a lot of fuel it spools the turbo. This is stressful on the exhaust components because your combusting gas in the exhaust itself, but to make 5 psi at idle it’s worth it :D !
 
Anit-lag systems toast turbos very quickly. I would never use it on a street car or even at the track. That is a dangerous function and I see alot of people blowing turbos using it.
 
So what does it mean if I can get my car to spool up to 10 psi in neutral without doing any of the mods you guys mentioned? It will do it at 5-6000 rpms.
 
And this ladies and gentlemen, is exactly why a lightened flywheel will NOT spool your turbo faster. No matter how many rpm's you rev your engine to in neutral, or how fast you rev it, you won't build ANY boost. So I guess there goes the ridiculous theory that 'faster rev's means quicker boost.' Now will you all learn once and for all that boost is LOAD dependant, and not RPM dependant on a turbocharged car?

Too bad that analogy doesn't work here...it doesn't take into account how fast you are going through the rpm, nor how much power you are making while going through those rpm. Case in point? Car A makes 300HP, but is only at part throttle and car B makes 300HP, but is at full throttle and they have the same gears...which one is accelerating faster? There goes that equation.

It means either A. your boost controller = #@%#@%#@%#@%. Or B. i got no clue.

Their is a very easy way, hold the throtle wide open. My friends car could build 15-16PSI just sitting there. The stock rev limiter is there as a safty, if it worn't safe to rev it to 7500 the it would have been set lower.

Wait a second, I thought I remembered reading here that you can build boost with no load if there is little/no backpressure off of the turbo. I/E, dropping your exhaust from the downpipe, or running a straight-pipe. Is this true, or just another pipe dream?
