Stock battery ground cable...

I have a 91 gsx

There are two wires that connect to the negative terminal of the battery. One bolts directly to the firewall right above the battery. Where does the other cable go???

I plan to replace these wires. They are getting corroded and hard. I may play around too and make my own grounding system. Something like those kits on ebay...

Any tips on ground points???

The one that disappears down out of sight goes to the starter.

Replacing them would be fine, although you want to make sure that you get the cable->connector junctions solid. You might consider getting stock replacements from Mitsubishi; the cables themselves are more than adequately sized.

That eBay kit looks pretty nice, how much do they go for?

Whichever way you go, make sure you lightly sand your contact areas, then once connected give them a cover shot of grease, white grease, the red spray stuff they make for battery terminals, or vaseline- somthing that'll help air- and water-seal the connection to help fight corrosion. Although Mesa won't really be like SF or Baltimore....
