I just bought the punishment racing downpipe, My setup is ported 2g manifold, ported 14b, ported 2g o2 housing and punishment 3'' downpipe. Does anyone have this setup? How is fitment? What catback are you guys running with the PR DP, and did it bolt right up?

I have the Megan Racing 3" DP that PR used to sell. I'm pretty sure the new ones are similar in design though(from pics on the PR site). Remember, you won't be able to use a cat with this DP; it should bolt right up to the same location as the outlet of the stock cat. I did have to enlarge the bolt holes on the inlet flange so it would bolt up, but i'm using an LIPP o2 housing, so that may have had something to do with it.

I read that since they arent mandrel bent, that its actually not 3" inside. Is this true?

on there site it says the 2G down pipe eliminates the stock cat, it doesnt say anything about the 1G. Ill have issues with punishment racing if its the same with the 1G, without it saying that on the site..

i have the megan racing 3in turbo back down pipe without a cat on my 1st gen the only problem is that it gets very close the the oil filter but it works and sounds great

ok fellas, I know this is a long shot, but im hoping someone can help me. I just got the downpipe 3'' from punishment, and im about to take it to the exhaust shop to have a bung welded in for the wideband.

Where should I have it welded in at, to clear everything else on the car. Ive been told to have it welded just after the final bend, near the hanger before the flex section. I was told if welded directly on top it will clear everything else(steering rack, motor, ect...) This is a 1990 FWD turbo model.

Will this be the correct spot to have the bung welded. Ive included the bung in the picture for reference. Sorry if the images arn't the correct size. Im not sure if this site auto re-sizes pics or not.

Nope. that location looks like it will hit the body and will not fit. the best thing to do is to loosly bolt it up and use a sharpie to park the correct location and orientation. It seems like a PITA but... Do it once... the first time is always best.

My downpipe has the 2.5" pipe right before the flex section. How much of a performance loss am I seeing from this? (or would the gain be worth me buying a new dp?)

(when I searched for Down Pipe it brought up 500 threads...basically anything that had to do with pipe)

I just looked at punishments website and it said the downpipe was " 3" piping with 2.5" entrance" so its the same as the one I allready have.

i have a PR 3" DP with SRS catback, and a hf cat, i had to cut it to fit my catalytic converter, but so far so good, just my .02

As much as id love to, thats not an option for me. The car is a DD. As it sits right now, it has the stock NA header and intake on it(previous owner, dont ask LOL) Im slowly buying all the stock and some aftermarket turbo parts. Ive gotta swap out the NA parts and the turbo parts in one day, and have it running by the next. So, if I have it all apart and have the turbo mani and turbo mounted up and I test fit the downpipe, I have no way to get it to a muffler shop. I just gotta eyeball it now, and have it welded.

I know someone has this downpipe and has welded a bung into it, and can post up a pic, or atleast circle where it needs to be in my pic. Ive searched through hundreds of pics, and only found a couple, and the o2 sensor is mounted right about there, actually its directly in the middle of that bend next to where i have mine. So I may need to move it up just a inch or two, right in the middle of the bend.

Im just really hoping someone can help me out with a pic or somthing

WTFIs your turbo setup that different from stock? Wait, are you saying someone deleted the turbo from your GST?

It's still bigger than stock so your not actually seeing a loss of performance. I don't think that gain will be worth it, unless you have a big turbo with a 3" o2 housing; much like the PR turbo kit.

^ Yes sir.. Someone took the turbo off and replaced it with the NA header/intake and ECU... still has the 450's in it though LOL. Runs like ass right now, im working on it though. The car was $600 i guess you cant expect a turbo for that price.

hmmmm. that makes since. I guess ill just wait to install the wideband until I get the whole turbo system on, then on another day off just bring it to an exhaust shop and have it welded in.
