OK, I'm literally right now trying to get the built motor back into the car.

Well, the bushing seems to be a little different than stock. The bolts that go through the sleeves are loose, and not thick to take up the space in the sleeve but the engine bracket mount the bolts go through and are tightly in place.

Has anyone had this issue?
I'm not sure why this is going on, but the THICKEST bolt I have for the motor mounts wont fit through snugly, it wiggles around quite loosely.
Wont this rattle everytime you hit the throttle?

Thanks for the help!
PS I searched and searched, so no flaming.;);)

Well, I just joined this site seconds ago to post up another question, but say this one, and figured I would see if I could help.

I just drilled out my old and broken mounts in order to put in the new Prothane mounts. I haven't yet put the engine in, but can see what issues you might be having with them. I have found that with a couple of them.

I had some of the part numbers of the ones I purchased were wiped off, so I had to plug and play with them. If you are talking about the bolt fitting of the front and rear (not the right or tranny mounts), then make sure you have them properly matched up. They are almost the very same if you look closely especially whether you removed the pressed in lip from the original mount or if you drilled and removed the majority of it.

Given I can see that both my left and right (tranny and main large engine mount) fit quit snug, the small amount of play within the bolts for the front and rear mounts might just be for ease of engine installation rather than a problem.

Just think of how the engine has to be shoe-horned into the engine bay, You usually have to play around with the mounts, while pushing the engine around in order for them to match up all while trying to make the bolts on the tranny match up.

I am guessing that after installation, you shouldn't have any problems of rattling given the tightness of the other mounts.

I was thinking that, but when I say snug I mean a little play, for example:
The normal shaft play on a brand new turbo, thats the kind of play to expect with the motor mount bolt in the sleeves, well its not exactly like that.

Its quite larger and it rattles and I'm just unsure of the gap, maybe the front and rear sleeves need to be switched? but then again the rear would still have the same issue.

Unless like you're saying, ease of installation and when they are torqued down, thats enough to hold the motor mount in the slot and not allow it to jer forward and back creating a small metal to metal sounds of the bolt slamming back and for inside the motor mount sleeve.

Thanks again in advance for anyone else who has any ideas or answers!

When I did my Prothanes I noticed this same issue. I switched the bolts to the thicker style since I had them laying around. The bolts should crush the ears of the mounts onto the sleeve holding it in place. I haven't noticed any rattling and the motor doesn't move around.
