Just got done putting a e316g on my 97 gst and 650cc injectors. Now my car dont really want to boost I have a apexi avcr controller . My stock turbo was boosting around 10 just sitting in my drive way and this one wont go past 5psi at 5000rpm? Also my air fuel ratio is about 14.5 at idle on my apexi turbo timer but my air fuel gauge on my pillar is reading lean whats up with that. My stock stuff was around 14.5 and both gauges seem to be ok any feed back would be great thanks again guys

Okay. Let's go over this step by step.

Just got done putting a e316g on my 97 gst and 650cc injectors.

Did you do a boost leak test after installing that turbo and those injectors? Is the wastegate armature hooked up properly? Is it a real MHI 16g or a knock-off? What do you have to tune those injectors with; AFC, Keydiver chip, DSMLink, AEM, MAFT? Do you have the supporting mods to run that turbo and those injectors?

My stock turbo was boosting around 10 just sitting in my drive way and this one wont go past 5psi at 5000rpm?

Are you free-revving your car to make boost while sitting still? Stop doing that. Boost is created under load. Have you done a proper boost leak test yet?

The Apexi turbo timer A/F gauge is just a guess based on your O2 voltage. Same for that blinky-light show on your A-pillar. Until you get a Wideband O2 sensor and controller, you cannot trust those gauges to tune with.

Yes I did do a boost leak test everything good. Also my mods are: 3inch turbo back exhaust,intake,front mount,apexi avcr and the apexi neo.

And yes I was just sitting there reving it because my old turbo would boost that way. Sorry I am still new at this so learning while I go Thanks again
 
Try taking the car out on the road and giving it a good 2nd or 3rd gear pull and report the results of the boost pressure.
 
Ok, well I found out my boost gauge was not set correct so thats fixed. Now I have to mess around with my apexi neo I have fuel cut like right away around 2500 rpm my air fuel is reading around 9.5 to 10.5 so I think I will be good thanks for the helpROFL
 
Okay, did you miss the part where I said those air fuel ratio gauges are worthless?

And if you're hitting fuel cut, it's probably because of a boost leak. Seriously.
 
Eaither that or its super rich. ive had the happen when i was tunning my car with a wideband. I would seriously say get a wideband then dirve and tune the car. Without a wideband #1 you wont get a perfect tune. #2 you could blow your motor and i would say thats more likely because your new. For all you know you could be running 14 a/fs and that will destory your motor. Or like i think since your hiting fuel cut so soon really rich. you will destory the pistion rings this way. not to metion all that fuel going into your oil. your a/fs at lide should be around 14.7ish under wot 11.5ish depending on who you ask cursing speeds and not under load what so ever 14s possibly 15s dpending on what you've got to tune. If i were you i would pull the plugs out and take a look at them.

Another red flag. Apexi Neo but no logger to help tune it.

Get at least pocketlogger to tune with.
