no where,
Alabama
1998 GS with ~140k on original cluth and transmission. Posting for a friend so please bear with me. I searched, but nothing seemed quit the same.
Over the past few weeks noticed transmission was getting more notchy.
Second gear occassionally grinds when shifting at low rpms.
Now pretty much always grinds into third, and third only. We found when we push in the clutch and wait a few seconds before shifting we can prevent it from grinding. On average he shifts about 2500 - 3k and under those normal conditions it will grind. I made sure when I was driving that I had the cluth fully engaged before attempting to shift and it still sounds like it isn't.
He usually downshifts to help stop and one thing that bothered me was how he'd slam it into third on the highway to get around people. The tranny hasn't been treated very nice at all, however, the fact that it is only really problematic shifting into third has me stumped.
Any help? Thanks!
Jordan L.
