Regina,
Okay. I just bought my car a week ago. It's a 97 spyder GST. It ran fine when i bought it and ill admit i have drivin it a little hard. My a/f sat around 14.5 and everything seemed fine and dandy up untill yesterday. My a/f went out to lunch and decided to jump between 12 and 15 and the car is reving higher while it idles now. any suggestions?

okay. well i went to a buddies house last night and the car was running just fine. and when i left it seemed fine till i stopped at my other buddy's house and it sounded like the car has a miss. the a/f was all outta whack and it just didnt sound right. i started it up this morning and it was revving high and my air fuel was still out to lunch and i really have no clue what's going on. the cars pushing 17 psi with an MHI 14b turbo. Sitting at an idle it used to rev around 780- 820 and now it's at 12 or 13. it scares me because i've only had the car for a week.

Let the engine cool down. Restart it and see if the idle really needs adjusting or if the Fast Idle Air Valve was just doing its job.

Do you have a wideband O2 sensor installed? You said that your A/F ratio was 12-15, you cannot count on the stock narrowband O2 sensor for an accurate reading.

honestly i have no clue about the o2 sensor because everything was done to the car before i bought it. I'll ask the guy than reply thanks for the help though.

I let her cool down started it again and it's still doing the same thing. Also i noticed a funny noise coming from the passenger side of the car. it sounded like 2 clicks.

i was driving it last night and i also discovered that the car wont build boost in first gear and it's hard for it to build boost at all.

Have you touched anything on the car recently? Mine wouldn't build boost when I accidentally swapped two spark plug wires.

And what Zach was asking about the wideband can be determined by how you're seeing your A/F ratio in a number. Do you have a gauge that shows a number? If so, you have a wideband o2 sensor.

Does the clicking noise happen just at idle, just during turning, all the time? Any idea where specifically it is coming from?
