okay, i searched, and even looked at the posts it gave after making my topic..

i've been to other forums (carolinadsm.com) and no one can tell me anything....

engine: 91 eclipse 6bolt 4g63
car: 94 mirage
(just to give you guys a heads up, thinking things would be in the normal area to check)
(also did not do the swap, bought the car like that, car was / is running fine besides the overheating which we think we fixed // the head gasket needed to be changed and the water pump looked fine)

the car wont start. It turns over and over but does not fire.

the timing belt DID NOT BREAK ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING.

i recently did a headgasket change because my car started to overheat. we pulled off the head, manifold, and removed the timing belt. i checked the head, everything seemed normal (was still running nice and smooth besides hearing a tick whenever i gave it boost) other than that, no wierd noises, no boost lag, did a compression test when we did a turbo swap with another 14b (seals went out on it because of overheating)

shit is pissing me off now, i've spent 2-3 days going over everything to see what could be wrong. i've connected and reconnected everything. even did the timing belt adjustment again (following a guide that i found on here)

can someone please give me some sort of answer, or at least point me in the right direction.

yeppers.....

come to think of it i can't even remember now... :( ####ing bi***!

i can always do it again tomorrow i'm off.

some pics of the car as she sits... (although the front bumper is off, and the intercooler is off)

sorry for the crappy pics. and yes that's a civic front bumper and lip kit.... and the corner light is off because i needed to change the light bulb.

i was going to work on the body sometime next week and get her fully primed to be painted another coat of white at the end of the month or sometime next month. BUT can't do that until i get it fixed. (have a air compressor and paint gun at my dad's house) and i know the rims in the back and steelies in the front are g@y but both the other rims needed to be touched up with some bronze paint. they'll be on soon.

okay, here is pictures that i was talking about.... hopefully someone will look on this. and tell me what is wrong...

To me it looks like both yours cams need to go down 1 tooth. Your oil pump looks like its off a tooth too. Your balance shafts have been romoved.

You really should check your compression to make sure you dont have any bent valves.

Your supposed to take the timing belt off with the engine at TDC that way you don't run the risk of bending any valves setting it all to TDC later. I'm saying bent valves and do a compression check to be sure.

Prob doesn't matter in this situation, but isn't that a head from a 7bolt block whereas he has a 6bolt block?

Yea, check compression in nos. 2 and 3 since the crank is 180* from the TDC mark, making 1 and 4 on their down stroke when the belt was pulled. If that crank mark was at the 5'oclock position, then I'd say he was fine since that'd be 90* from TDC meaning all pistons would be in the middle of their bores.

the valve cover was painted red.

if it was bent valve wouldn't it make a noise upon start up (or at least trying to crank)

i did take the belt off whenever i did my adjustments.

ifanything, i'm probably just going to have this guy i know to rebuild the whole motor, just to cover all my bases. (just gotta figure out how much he's going to charge me)

anyone know where i can get a decent rebuild kit?? or what i should get, i found one at slowboy, but i also want to go ahead and change out the valves, springs, etc.

my goal is to have the engine at the very least 15lbs of boost (i already have a light weight car and don't want to go ape shit on boost because i'mi already going to be hauling ass because of the lightness.) (fuel tank is lighter / no ac or ac components. alot has been removed from the car and she's light as hell)

thanks.

if the balance shaft has been removed check to make sure you are at top dead center by removing the number 1 spark plug and place somethng in the cylnder for when the piston is at ts highest point and check to see if they put the plate that has the timing mark on it backwards.
