[RESOLVED] valves hit pistons

i tried to post in engine sections but it wouldnt let me. i bought a motor. i did not know that the valves hit the pistons. they are wiseco pistons for .040 over. should i reuse them or buy new ones. these pictures were taking from my phone i can get better ones if need be.

Reuse. I've seen worse reused.

my boss and i are worried that they wont last to long and i would end up having to pull the motor out again in a few thousand miles to put pistons in it.

Man i have seen way worse reused and the car still doesn't have any problems. perfect compression and he was running like 24 lbs. Its up to you. And those pistons look like the are aftermarket so why change if they are good pistons to begin with.

I would reuse them. Before doing that though I would either have a machine shop or myself grind down any sharp edges.

there arent any sharp edges to begin with. i plan on running 25lbs or above. the guy said that the blokc has 10k on it and the head has 5k. he replaced the head bc the valves got bent. he was running 33lbs for 5k miles and they still look like that and yes they are aftermarket as stated above. thanks for all the input i believe im gonna resuse them.

Just leave them alone and reuse them there fine, i wouldn't mess with even touching them i promise you there fine.

Ive piston slapped mine 2 times cause of a freak Crank bolt backing off..grrr anyways there fine. Youll be lucky to find a 4g63 motor that hasnt been piston slapped

my old motor didnt piston slap. but i was running rich so bye bye pistons.

I'm speaking from experience here. I jumped a tooth on the timing belt and all my intake valves kissed the pistons. My pistons look exactly like yours and i'm running 25 psi on e85 and i haven't had a problem.
