interior electric problem.good place to start?

im getting sick of not having a working cd player nor interior lights.
my 10A fuse for the interior lights(next to the 10A radio fuse) keeps blowing. where is a good place to start for short circuit?? i just rewired/properly grounded the cd deck. i dont see any cut wires or anything in the general area. also took out the kick panels on both sides and cant seem to find any wires hanging out. WHY!?

it used to work fine until i took it out for a couple of weeks. ### the door ajar wont go off.

any suggestions? any help would be appreciated

When you pulled the deck out the first time before it started shorting out you may have accidentally exposed a wire and it's grounding out on the body somewhere. You'll probably have to trace the power wire and see if you can find any broken insulation. That fuse that's blowing controls not only the stereo and interior lights, but also the running beam for the tail lights (when your headlights are on but you are not on the brakes). It sounds like it's somewhere along the stereo wiring but if that doesn't turn up anything then make your way next along the interior lighting and then tail lighting, especially around areas where the wiring is potentially rubbing with the body.

the one your talking about is the 15A taillight fuse that controls the HVAC,guage cluster, and the rear corner lights. i fixed that problem not too long ago. short in my dimmer switch
