I was driving my car the other day on the highway, all of the sudden i lost 2 cylinders, so i get it back home, open up ALLDATA and do mutiple test of parts. I tested cam sensor, it was good, tested coil pack, its good. tested power transistor, its good, also had the ECU checked by a computer shop, it was also good. WTF is going on !!! as of now the car will not start. but i noticed today when i was messing with the key, cycling it back and forth fast because i was pist the car would backfire, so i pulled a plug wire off and did that same thing, when i crank the car there would be no spark, but when i cycle the key on to off the car would give a bright blue spark in the OFF position, what the hell could that be ? this is getting pretty annoying and no one on the forums has ever encountered this problem i bet .:cry::cry:

How did you test the coils? And you say it didn't throw a code. My car did something like that got a check engine light. and it was the transistor. How did you test the transistor?

its not the coil ive had 3 of them in there, not the power transistor came off my friend turbo mirage, and i tested the transistor by a 1.5volt battery & Multimeter and all tests were done by the Haynes manual. and i cant check my codes in the car, the DIAGNOSTIC port wont power up.

Well i not sure what you mean by power up. But you can check your codes with a analog volt meter. It should say something about it in you manual. Hope that helps you.

alright no one is really helping here, i need some expert help, ive done all these test all of you have said so far, i dont have spark when cranking, when key is immediately shut off spark will occur, says in my title ?

ill have to check my ignition switch today.

also my ECU is grounded to frame, also have a the ECU ground wire on the harness grounded to the battery, and added multiple grounds to frame just to be safe awhile back.

Check your coolant temp sensor and wires. Car will not start if thats not right.

i dont think your right on that one, ive had my car started without the coolant temp sensor diconnected. i have a autometer mechanical water temp gauge and have had the stock sensor disconnected and the car ran fine

There is two sensors there one is the coolant temp sensor and the other coolant temp gauge I had this problem my car was not starting had spark fuel and would crank. I did some searching and found that a bad coolant sensor will not make car start. Went got another one and car started.

yea but my car does not spark, i have fuel, so that cant be my problem.

I know you said ecu was just rebuilt but if you have another form a friend that you can swap in the try that. If your coil pack is good and your transistor is good then you should have spark. Cam angle sensor pluged in. The car should start. Check the connection were the coil pack plugs in spray some cleaner in there and blow it out with compressed air. Ive gotten oil in mine and car ran like shit.

ecu is good, just had it rebuilt 3 days ago. but my coil pack that i just got was a little bit dirty, ill clean it up and see if that works
