My 1990 Eclipse GST does not boost and I have not idea why. I bought the car for $1000 and it sat for 7 years and it only has 53,758 original miles. I relpaced the throttle body, mass air flow, fixed waste gate, checked for intercooler leaks, fixxed vaccum leak. I'm at a loss of words now, beacuse car drives fine, but once you give it some gas and boost hit 0 on the gauge it starts to buck and back fire. We are leaning now toward the ecu, because the one in there is a noname ecu that was rebuilt, so we are thinking that the ecu is bad and is causing this problem.
I do have a E6K standalone halitech ecu system, but I do not know if I want to put it in the car, I already know that the standalone would fix the problem but I have heard that if I do the standalone I am going to put myself in a big money pit. I also heard that with standalone the car is not the same because basically all I want to do it boost the stock turbo and keep it as a every day car and I heard with standalone your car is no longer a every day car.
Thank you for replies
